It is essential all members remember that the execution of their duties they act not for themselves, but for the good of the public. They shall respect and protect the rights of individuals and perform their services with honesty, zeal, courage, discretion, fidelity, and sound judgment. As such, we will enforce all laws for which we are responsible in a fair and impartial ,manner at all times and work in close cooperation with other law enforcement agencies in order to maintain the security and interests of the public we serve.

It is the expressed Policy of the Department that police officers will use force only when the exercise of persuasion, advice and warning is found to be insufficient to obtain public cooperation to an extent necessary to secure observance of law or to restore order, and to use only minimum degree of physical force which is necessary upon any particular occasion for achieving a police objective.

By striding to act in the manner indicated above we will provide for the peace and security of all residents of the Village of Quogue and simultaneously foster a sound relationship with the public we serve.
